SIMULACRA is an electronic music project working at the intersection of performance, synthesis, sound design and generative systems. Music is built through a hybrid process: synthesizers, keyboards, guitars and other traditional instruments sit alongside programmed electronics, sampling, digital manipulation and generative systems.
Material may begin as a performance, a programmed sequence, a generated fragment, an accident or an unexpected transformation — then be dismantled, rearranged, replayed and reconstructed until it becomes something new. Artificial intelligence is used as a creative instrument rather than a substitute for the creative process: to generate, transform, disrupt and discover material. Its outputs may be edited, performed over, resynthesised, processed or deliberately allowed to collide with human performance.
The same approach extends into Simulacra's visual work, where music, film and synthetic imagery combine to explore identity, consciousness, technology and realities that don't quite behave as expected. Simulacra works in the space where performance, synthesis and simulation become difficult to separate — where the representation no longer necessarily requires an original. There is no particular interest in hiding the joins. Sometimes the mistake, anomaly or unintended result is where the interesting thing begins.
